What is engraved on Bitcoin
cannot be erased.
btc3r inscribes your message, your proof of anteriority or a document fingerprint onto the Bitcoin blockchain — the most replicated and most secure decentralised ledger in the world.
Inscribing requires an account. Log in or create a free account to inscribe your first message.
Local demo: your text is hashed directly in your browser and sent nowhere. No real Bitcoin transaction is broadcast here. For a permanent inscription, create an account.
The only ledger no organisation controls
A server can go down, a company can shut its doors, an account can be suspended. The Bitcoin blockchain belongs to no one and has been running since its very first block, in January 2009.
Censorship-resistant
No central authority can remove, alter or block access to data once it is written into a confirmed block.
Decentralised & replicated
Every node on the network keeps a full copy of the ledger. To erase an inscription, you would have to wipe out the entire network.
Protected by the hashrate
Rewriting the blockchain history would require out-computing the combined power of every miner on the network — an economically prohibitive cost.
Different reasons to inscribe something today
Plain-text message or a file fingerprint (hash): whatever you inscribe will endure through time.
A trace that outlives you
A message, a declaration, a digital time capsule: inscribe a personal message that will still be readable fifty years from now, just as today.
Learn more →Date an idea with certainty
Researchers, inventors, creators: inscribe a summary or a hash of your work to establish, verifiably by anyone, that it existed on a given date.
Learn more →Certify a document
Inscribe only the SHA-256 fingerprint of a contract, source code or a work. The content stays private; its exact version, at that moment, becomes verifiable forever.
Learn more →A universal timestamp
Proof of existence for a dispute, a project milestone, a personal archive: whenever a precise moment must be fixed beyond ambiguity, the blockchain stands as an impartial witness.
Learn more →From a text or a fingerprint to block confirmation on the blockchain
Four steps, the last one irreversible: once the block is mined, the inscription can no longer be removed.
Write
Write your message or drop in a file. You choose whether to inscribe the text itself or only its fingerprint.
We compute the fingerprint
A unique SHA-256 hash is generated locally. Two identical contents always produce the same fingerprint; two different contents, never.
Inscription on the network
The data is embedded in a Bitcoin transaction and broadcast to the network nodes, awaiting inclusion in a block.
Final confirmation
As soon as it is included in a mined block, you receive a certificate: transaction ID, block number and timestamp.
Bitcoin blockchain to Record, Remain & Reveal
Record · Keep · Reveal
The precise moment your message is hashed, broadcast, then included in a block. An instant, frozen once and for all.
Once inscribed, your message remains in the ledger, replicated across thousands of nodes around the world — no organisation can erase it.
In ten years, fifty years or more: anyone, armed with the TXID, can retrieve and re-read your message exactly as it was inscribed, via any block explorer.
An inscription certificate
Each confirmed inscription produces a certificate listing the content fingerprint, the Bitcoin transaction ID, the block number and the exact timestamp: everything you need to verify the inscription yourself, on any public explorer.

"To whoever reads this one day, this message was meant for you."
One flat price, no surprises
Every write to the blockchain (plain-text message or document fingerprint) costs the same, Bitcoin network fees included. You top up your account with PayPal, then each inscription is debited from your balance.
A single price, whether you inscribe a plain-text message or the SHA-256 fingerprint of a document.
- Message up to 80 bytes (≈ 80 characters) or SHA-256 fingerprint
- Bitcoin network fees included
- Invoice and certificate with TXID, block and timestamp
- Fingerprint computed in your browser: the document is never sent to btc3r
For bulk or recurring inscriptions and to go beyond the 80-byte limit, we offer custom pricing:
- Literary work, audio recording, video, signed contract, minutes, strategic report, specifications, source code, dataset, incident report, technical logs …
- Volume discounts based on quantity and regularity.
Your account is topped up via PayPal and each inscription is debited from the balance. No inscription is broadcast without your explicit confirmation.
Before you inscribe
Is my message really permanent?
Technically, yes — as long as the Bitcoin network exists and keeps being replicated by its nodes, which has been the case without interruption since 2009. No company, btc3r included, can remove an inscription once it is confirmed in a block.
Is my message visible to everyone?
Yes. Data written into a Bitcoin transaction is public by nature and viewable by anyone through a block explorer. For confidential use, choose the "Fingerprint" option, which inscribes only a hash, unreadable without the original document.
What is the difference between inscribing a text and inscribing a hash?
An inscribed text is readable by all in plain sight. A hash (SHA-256 fingerprint) is a string of characters that does not reveal the original content, but lets you prove — by recomputing the hash of a document — that it has remained unchanged since its inscription.
Does a btc3r inscription have legal value?
A timestamped inscription on the Bitcoin blockchain can serve as evidence of anteriority or integrity in some contexts, but it does not replace a notarial deed or a formal legal deposit. For significant legal matters, we recommend consulting a legal professional.
How long does it take for an inscription to be confirmed?
Usually between 10 minutes and a few hours, depending on the fee chosen and network congestion at the time of sending. The final certificate is issued only once the block is actually mined.
Can I retrieve an inscription without going through btc3r?
Yes — it is one of the core principles of the service: with the TXID shown on your certificate, you can view your inscription on any public Bitcoin block explorer, independently of btc3r.
What you inscribe today will still be readable a hundred years from now.
